STOP COVID NYC: A Study Capturing City-Wide Coronavirus Symptoms and Mental Health Impacts

Laura Huckins, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, and Genetics and Genomics, at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, delivers a lecture about a new app-based survey gathering data on New York City residents and their COVID-19-related symptoms in order to better understand transmission and enhance medical response. Data collected from the survey could alert health care providers about growing clusters of outbreaks in specific communities across the five boroughs, helping to better allocate resources for rising numbers of patients. The second iteration of the survey features a mental health portion to measure the emotional toll as well as coping strategies.
