Nina Bhardwaj, MD, PhD, was honored with the 2022 ESMO Award for Immuno-Oncology from the European Society for Medical Oncology in recognition of her outstanding contributions to cancer immunology research. Dr. Bhardwaj delivered her award lecture on December 7 during the ESMO Immuno-Oncology Congress 2022.
Dr. Bhardwaj also was honored in 2022 with the Lifetime Achievement in Cancer Research award from the American Association of Indian Scientists in Cancer Research.
Dr. Bhardwaj is Professor of Medicine (Hematology and Medical Oncology) and Urology, and holds the Ward Coleman Chair in Cancer Research. She is Director of Immunotherapy, Medical Director of the Vaccine and Cell Therapy Laboratory, and Co-Director of the Cancer Immunology Program at The Tisch Cancer Institute.
Dr. Bhardwaj is a pioneer in human dendritic cell biology and neoantigen vaccines for the treatment of human cancers and infections. She leads a vibrant laboratory dedicated to the study of T cells, NK cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells in the context of tumor immunotherapy.
