U.S. policymakers are increasingly focused on curtailing Medicare hospice services for people with dementia due to increasing hospice benefit expenditures. A new joint study by researchers at the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the University of California, San Francisco may prompt them to take a second look.
