Could the Oral Microbiome Play a Role in Head and Neck Cancer?

Human papillomavirus is the cause for a variety of cancers including anal, oral, and malignancies of the head and neck. But not all those infected develop cancer; some are able to suppress the virus. Researchers at the Head and Neck Cancer Research Program at Mount Sinai think the oral microbiome may play a role in this immune response.
