Conducting intraoperative frozen section analysis of surgical margins for head and neck cancer specimens can be a complex process for both surgeons and pathologists. To solve this, Mark Urken, MD, has created a new 3D optical imaging-driven workflow that, combined with teleconferencing technology, has the potential to become the “gold standard” for conducting frozen section analysis and communicating margin results.
